Don't be a loser; be a weirdo

Ya from the title of this post your probably thinking, "what on earth is this girl talking about?"

well when I first heard this I thought the same thing. What does it mean? 

I want to base this post off an amazing message I heard while I was at camp that was preached by Al Stone. I will never forget his message or the title- Don't be a loser, be a weirdo.

His message really spoke to me & I just wanted to share some of the things he taught me and share some of my own thoughts.

So many Christians now a'days sound, look, and act just like the rest of the world. This shouldn't be. We need to be DIFFERENT. We can't ever influence the world by trying to be like it.

People should know you are DIFFERENT! We need to stand out and stand up for the cause of Christ.

Don't be a loser, be a weirdo.

People say different is wrong. The world says come be like us. Christians keep on moving more and more towards the world that you can barely even tell Christians and the world apart. I've heard of some people who have said that they are Christians but you wouldn't even know it by the way they live! Christians should talk, look, act, and live different from the world. "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. "- Rom.12:2 

Christians have been persecuted all through history. The world doesn't like true Christians. They will say that we are "losers" for not being like them, and they will call us "weird" or "usual". But true Christians are not losers, but we should want to be different. The world should see a difference in us. The world shouldn't feel like we are the same, we need to stick out. We need to be "weirdos". Who cares what the world cares about us? You shouldn't want the world to think your normal! 

Some of us Christians are losers. We aren't striving to serve God in all aspects of our life, we are just blending in with the world. Not taking a stand; just blending in.

Don't blend in! Stand out! 

People will think your weird, people will mock you, and hurt you. But we shouldn't be looking at that. We should be looking to Jesus.

Don't be a loser, don't be one of those Christians who take Christ so lightly and just blend in with the world. People say that when Christians act like the world we will be able to reach it for Christ. Well uh that's totally wrong. We start acting like the world and it will change us, not the other way around.

Don't be the one who gives into peer pressure, don't be the one who claims that they are a Christian but your life and actions suggest otherwise. Don't be a loser. Be the one who stands up against the world, the one who is courageous enough to continue to serve God no matter what others think of them. The one who is not ashamed to be different; the one who wants to be different!

Go show the world that you serve a might God! Yes; troubles will arise. Yes; people will mock you. Yes; you will be tempted to give up. Yes; you will be an outlaw to the world. but it will be worth it. The greatest joy is to serve God with all you've got. We can't do that while still living for the world.

Be different. People will call you weird. But just smile and be glad. 

Be what the world thinks is a weirdo. God knows your heart. Just don't be a loser.

Don't strive for the world to like you; you don't want that kind of attention. You want the world to look at you and say "that girl/boy is different. She's not like us. She's a weirdo." because if the world thinks your weird it most likely means your doing right. If the world praises your actions it most likely means your doing wrong in God's eyes.
