Fashion Post & Missions Update

I haven't done a fashion post on here for some time so I thought I'd do a quick one one on a new spring outfit of mine! I'm not sure about you all but I am so ready for this warmer weather; so glad spring is nearly here.

We had such a beautiful day the other day so my brother snapped some pictures of my outfit real quick!

 I know these pictures aren't the best quality but we were in a hurry! One of these days I'm going to take some time to have a real fashion post with better images and such....but that might not be for a while!

Outfit recap
Necklace- Kohls
Shirt- Walmart
Skirt-Cato (just came in with their new spring items)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 I also have some exciting news for you all! I will be leaving Monday for a 8 day missions trip to Honduras! I am so excited. Please keep us in our prayers. Pray for our safety and of course that many souls would be saved! Hopefully when I get back I'll have some photos to show you all of the trip. I won't be able to respond to emails for that period of time also, so if I don't reply to anyone during this time just know that I'm unavailable. I will try to respond as soon as possible!
Have a great week you all...I'm off to go packing!
Chocolate Raspberry cupcakess and a Tag
Thought I'd share with you a recipe to these amazing Chocolate Raspberry cupcakes I made for a party last month. I hope you all try these sometime and tell me how you like them =)
Chocolate Raspberry cupcakes
(recipe is for 24 cupcakes but I got more out of it than that)
Ingredients
For the cupcakes:
3 oz. semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
1½ cups hot brewed coffee
3 cups sugar
2½ cups all-purpose flour
1½ cups unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp. baking soda
¾ tsp. baking powder
1¼ tsp. salt
3 large eggs
¾ cup vegetable oil
1½ cups buttermilk
¾ tsp. vanilla extract
For the filling:
1 (12 oz.) bag frozen raspberries, thawed
¼ cup sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
For the frosting:
12 oz. bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
¾ cup heavy cream
1½ tbsp. sugar
1½ tbsp. corn syrup
3 tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
Directions
  • To make the cupcakes, preheat the oven to 350˚ F.  Line cupcake pans with paper liners.  Place the chopped chocolate in a medium bowl; add the hot coffee and let stand a minute or two, then whisk until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.  In the bowl of an electric mixer beat the eggs on medium-high speed until slightly thickened and pale yellow.  Slowly add the oil, buttermilk, vanilla, and melted chocolate mixture to the eggs, mixing until well blended.  Add the dry ingredients and beat on medium-low speed just until incorporated.
  • fill each cupcake liner about ¾ of the way full.  Bake 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.   Allow to cool in the pan 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • To make the raspberry filling, puree the raspberries in a blender or food processor. Whisk in the sugar and cornstarch, and heat, stirring frequently until the mixture boils.  Once it has thickened, remove the pan from the heat.  Chill before using.
    •   meanwhile, make the ganache.  Add the chopped chocolate to a medium heatproof bowl.  In a saucepan combine the cream, corn syrup and sugar.  Heat until just boiling.  Immediately pour the mixture over the chopped chocolate and let stand a few minutes to melt.  Whisk in small circular motions until the mixture is smooth and blended, then whisk in the butter 1 tablespoon at a time until completely incorporated.  Let the mixture stand to thicken slightly, so it can be piped or spread.
 To assemble the cupcakes, place the raspberry filling in a pastry bag. ( actually I didn't pipe my filling. I scooped out holes in the middle of the cupcakes with a handy baking tool I have and just used a spoon to put in the filling) Spread the ganache over the tops of the cupcakes.  If desired, pipe excess ganache inside fresh raspberries and place on top of the frosted cupcakes (be sure to do this before the frosting sets.)  Allow to set completely before serving.
And Viola! You have a batch of some of the best cupcakes you have ever tasted. The chocolate cake used for this recipe is SO moist and the ganache and filling is delicious!
The raspberry chocolate cupcakes are on the left in this picture and to the right is a batch of Oreo cupcakes that I make (If you all would like me to post the recipe I'd be glad to! If you like Oreos this recipe is delicious also)
 The above picture is the first batch of cupcakes I made. The cupcakes always look cute with some fresh raspberries on top to add some prettiness along with an extra kick of flavor :)
I also got tagged by the lovely Heidi Anne the blogger recognition award! Thank you so much Heidi.
Rules of the Award:
1. Nominate 15 other bloggers
2. Write a post about this fabulous award, tell the story of your blog, thank the wonderful person who nominated you, and in the great post link the person you got the award from.
3. Let the people you nominate know you nominated them
The story of  Daughter of the King
. I started blogging at age twelve. Although my inspiration for blogging has always stayed the same my enthusiasm has changed. When I first began blogging I wanted to reach other girls my age and encourage them in their walk with God. Unfortunately when I started I didn't know any other bloggers, and my writing slowed down greatly. I never was inspired to write and didn't post much except pictures of me and my life. After about a year of blogging I met a wide-range of other bloggers and realized how big and important having a Christian blog can be. The last two years I've gotten a much bigger blog audience and I've stepped up my writing for the Lord. The main purpose of my blog is to encourage and help fellow Daughters of the King to realize their identity as a princess and to strive to serve the Lord with their lives!
  If you're new to blogging my best advice to you is to keep your eyes focused on the message your delivering--not on how many people are following your blog. So many of my blogger friends have fizzled out over the years because they get discouraged over their lack of feedback and followers. Just keep your eyes on writing for the glory of God and you'll never loose inspiration!
I nominate:
And that's all for now =) Hope you all have a blessed week!
Christmas Time
Christmas Eve
I absolutely love this picture! It just shows the brightness and joy that Christmas brings. Tomorrow me and my family will be headed to IN for Christmas! It hasn't snowed there yet but I'm hoping for a white Christmas. Can't wait to go be with family and celebrate the birthday of our Lord Jesus. The greatest gift of all was never wrapped in paper but wrapped in God's amazing love-his son. It's amazing when you really think about how God sent his son-a King, to be born in a stable (with animals), layed in a manger, and wrapped in swaddling clothes! And all because of his amazing love for us! This Christmas don't forget the real reason for Christmas. It's not about opening gifts but it's about the Great Gift-Jesus.
            There's this amazing song called "Where's the line to see Jesus?"
 Around this time of year you see lines of kids waiting to tell Santa what they want for Christmas. They don't know the true meaning of what Christmas is really all about. It's not about asking Santa for presents for Christmas but it's about the presence of Christ. He is the REASON for the SEASON.
" Where's the Line to see Jesus".
Christmas time was approaching
Snow was starting to fall
Shoppers choosing their presents
People filling the mall
Children waiting for Santa
With excitement and glee
A Little boy tugged my sweater
Looked up and asked me,
"Where's the line to see Jesus?
Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday,
Why don't we see Him more?
Where's the line to see Jesus?
He was born for me.
Santa Clause brought me presents,
But Christ gave His life for Me."
As I stood in amazement
At this message profound
I looked down to thank him
He was no where around.
A little boy at he mall
Might as well had had wings
As the tears filled my eyes
I thought I heard him sing:
"Where's the line to see Jesus?
Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday,
Why don't we see Him more?
Where's the line to see Jesus?
He was born for me.
Santa Clause brought me presents,
But Christ gave His life for me."
In the blink of an eye,
At the sound of His trump't,
We'll all stand in line at His throne.
Every knee shall bow down.
Every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Where's the line to see Jesus?
Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday,
Why don't we see Him more?
Where's the line to see Jesus?
He was born for me.
Santa Clause brought me presents,
But Christ gave His life for me.
I can't believe December is here...already. I feel like fall just got here and now winter has taken it's place! I can't believe how fast this year has gone by...we're already on the last month of the year!
    Winter is so beautiful though. December is probably my favorite month of the year! Not only do I just love wearing sweaters, snuggling up with extra blankets, and drinking hot cocoa, but I love the Christmas spirit that this month brings! I hear Christmas music every day and I love looking at all the Christmas lights in town. Next week my church is having a float in the parade =) The week after that I'm having a teen Christmas party at my house and the week after that we're going Christmas caroling! I just love December.  It truly is-
"The most wonderful time of the year!"
P.S. My blog is in the middle of being redesigned. Sorry if it's looking weird...in the process of giving it a wintery/Christmas look!
autumn
autumn-lovely idea to do with whole class for all sorts of things...
Fall is here! And oh how I love it. I love the beauty that fall brings, the chilly air and colorful leaves. I love wrapping up in a blanket on a chilly day and sipping some hot cocoa. I love autumn. God's beauty always surrounds us but I always feel like it does even more in fall.
Fall, the prettiest season of all.
What's your favorite thing about autumn?
Things that could have been
This is a guest post I did for Khloe's blog: All things good.
 and just for you all know this was a scheduled post...at the moment I'm at summer camp. So just keep me in your prayers! Hope you enjoy my post...
Life flies by. Moments are spent and gone. And you look back and wish you had them back.
Sometimes I look at my past and look at opportunities I missed. This year my dad's taking a missions trip to Brazil and I really wanted to go but I was not able to earn the funds...it was a disappointment. I think of all the wonderful things that could have happened...We all have disappointments in life. We always miss out on some awesome thing we were looking forward too. Maybe you look at other people and wish that you could do what they did-have what they have. But my dear friends-We can not change the past and we can not predict the future.
"Do not ponder on things that could have been but live in today. Live now. Live for a better future"
Don't live in the past. Don't constantly think about all the things you've missed out on in life. Just enjoy now. And strive to make a better tomorrow. Too many people live their lives living in the past that they don't see the opportunities that tomorrow might bring.
Be optimistic. Look for joy in life. Don't wish and dream. But do. Make those things you've always dreamed of reality.
We can't change our past but we can surely do something about our future.
God's got a plan for each of us. But we must look to him and not our past. We got to keep our eyes focused on today.
"There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is tomorrow, so today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly live."
Need to remember this
Plans//Update//Awesomeness
I finished school last week! YES. Oh yeah! So excited about summer. Like I mean SO excited.
And I made a summer goal list, which is scary...considering I'm such a terrible procrastinator and every time I make plans/goals  I usually never do them. Sad; I know. But...I'm going to work on that :) Hopefully...but anyway I thought I might as well share my goals/plans on here that way whenever you all think about it you can remind me to stay consistent with them!
Ok. Let's go:
1) Read my bible EVERY day. No exceptions. (I need to work on this. Ive been doing better but I need to do even better!)
2) Get fit. Loose weight. (I've been saying this forEVER but I have lost 10 pounds so far so that's a start :)
3) Really dedicate myself to piano (I have to partake in a competition at camp this year and oh my word I'm so freaking out in fright.)
4) *This is a big one guys* WRITE (almost) EVERY DAY. (my goal for this one is to write an average of 850 words a day, four times a week, and be able to have a good sized book finished by the end of summer (If you all want to hear more about this just comment and I'll do another blog post on it)
5) Spend more time outside (I've already been doing this. We've got LOTS of yard work going on at our house...)
6) Read some books I've been wanting forever but haven't got a chance to get yet (for instance Andrew Klavan's homelander series. I'm just dying to read them.)
7) Actually do my plans instead of them being just that...plans. I hope to make them reality.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What are your guys plans for the summer?

Also I'm going on vacation next week! YIPPEE. Pretty excited. Well hope you all are having a good memorial weekend. Thanks for reading.

Things I've learned...

So I didn't know what to post today but I thought that it would be neat to do a post about the things I've learned over the years from movies, books, etc. So today I'm going to share some quotes and things that can really make an impact in your every day life. Now I normally do not support movies, entertainment things, etc. because I feel that there is always something negative in the world's entertainment and I don't want to advertise that kind of stuff. But I thought it would be good to share some of these things.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bambi... I wish everyone would do this!
I don't know about you but for me Bambi was a total heart breaker for me as a kid. But beside that point I will always remember Thumper saying "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say nothin' at all." And can I say that is probably the best advice. Seriously! I can't even count how many times I might have said something unkind or uncaring and I've regretted it so bad. Always be kind with your words.
 words are life  The Book Thief
Words are life.
This is so true. Words can be used so powerfully! They can bring forth life or break a life. This quote comes from the movie the book thief. Can I just say that everyone should see this movie. It literally changed the way I look at life. I've never seen a sadder movie though and I literally bawled my eyes out after watching it.
 Captain America quote
Stand up for what is right. My favorite super hero is by far captain America. He shows the real meaning to what our Country stands for but what it has lost sight of. We must stand for what we believe in. We must stand strong as soldiers not only for our country but for our God.
Lord of the Rings Quote from Gandalf <3-- this was one of my favorite quotes in the trilogy
This is oh so true. Sometimes we can't choose the things that happen to us. But we can choose how to handle them, and we can make a difference. "All we have to decides is what to do with the time that is given us." Make your life count. Do something today to make a difference for your future.
 "Every life is beautiful." October Baby, movie about an abortion survivor. It is touching and well-done. Stars John Schneider and Rachel Hendrix
This quote is from October Baby. An amazing movie about the power of love and forgiveness. Always remember that every life is beautiful. Treat everyone beautifully.
Alone Yet Not Alone by Tracy Leininger Craven
Alone yet not alone is an amazing story about two sisters who are kidnapped by Indians and they're amazing survival. This was probably one of the best books I ever read and I am SO excited about the movie coming out soon. I encourage you to look into reading this book. The message is so true and inspiring.
This song was written by Joni Eareckson  Tada  for the movie and I though I'd share the beautiful words on here:
I'm alone, yet not alone.
God's the light that will guide me home.
With His love and tenderness,
Leading through the wilderness,
And wherever I may roam,
I'm alone, yet not alone.
I will not be bent in fear.
He's the refuge I know is near.
In His strength I find my own.
By His faithful mercies shown.
That so mighty is His shield
All His love is now revealed.
When my steps are lost.
And desperate for a guide,
I can feel his touch,
A soothing presence by my side.
Alone, yet not alone.
Not forsaken when on my own.
I can lean upon His arm,
And be lifted up from harm.
If I stumble, or if I'm thrown,
I'm alone, yet not alone.
When my steps are lost.
And desperate for a guide,
I can feel his touch,
A soothing presence by my side.
By my side!
He has bound me with His love,
Watchful angels look from above.
Every evil can be braved,
For I know I will be saved.
Never frightened on my own,
I'm alone, yet not alone.
Alone yet not alone.
New Design
So I finally got time to do a new blog design! yay :) I hope you all like it. I found out how to do some new HTML and CSS coding and I think some of the things I did turned out beautifully. I also got to redo the blog design on my design blog. For a long time I couldn't find a design I liked for it but I think I'm finally happy with this one. here is the picture of the header. and you can check out the new design yourself by just clicking on it ---->>>>>
Also I thought I'd give a shoutout to all the girls who's blogs I've redone lately :)
I'm sure all of these girls would be thrilled if you checked out their blogs and maybe even follow! And if any of you all want a blog design I'd be glad to give you one.
Well I hope you all are having a fantastic week. Mine is going by very fast already and I have a lot to do this week. My dad's leaving tomorrow for a missions trip to Mexico! Please pray that it goes good and that many souls will be saved :)
Dogs. Life. & Summer
I saw this picture on Pinterest and I just thought it was the cutest thing. I just like love my dogs so much. They're literally like family and the most loyal animals.
One of my favorite dog quotes is:
"Dogs leave footprints on your heart and dog hair on your clothes."
And that statement is so true. Our white Shepard is loosing her winter coat and it's just like fur EVERYwhere.
....Alrighty so I know this is such a random post but I didn't really know what else to post about. so yeah....
Last night was the youth conference at our church! Had so much fun and enjoyed the preaching. Can't wait to have it again next year :) I'm especially looking forward to summer camp next month and finally getting out of school in a few weeks xD I've never looked forward to summer so much (I say that every year lol.)
When do you all get out of school? And what are you looking forward to this summer? This summer I'm starting to refinish furniture and then resale it at a flea market by us that provides free outdoor booths every Friday! So excited about this because I just love refurnishing stuff and it's so cool that I might get some profit off of it. Hopefully I'll get to post some pictures of my things I redo sometime. So far I got a: mini table, chair, mirror, and shelving/storage thing to redo. I got all of this stuff each for less than $5 and hope to sell it for a lot more profit! Can't wait to get it all finished :)
This wonderful life of mine
I had no idea what to post today (and I haven't posted for quite awhile) so i just thought i'd just do a little random post. Mostly a Pinterest raid, some news going on in my life, and some Q&A from some more blog awards and tags I've gotten.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Life is like a roller coaster. You can either scream every time there is a bump or you can throw your hands up and enjoy the ride.

Life has been quite wonderful for me lately. Yes, there are still difficult times and yes I still have my share of disappointments but God has just just put this joy and contentment in my heart. I''m so happy here in KY. We just moved here a few months ago and it was like the best thing that ever happened to me. Our new church is so wonderful. God's really been working on my heart through the messages and I just love working with the bus kids.
A few years ago I would have never imagined I'd be where I am today.
A few months ago I thought things would never work out for the good in my life.
But I was wrong.
So wrong.
Guys if your struggling with something and you think you're never going to make it,believe me, God is ALWAYS there. Even when you don't think he is. Our timing is not God's timing. It took me awhile to realize that but now I do. If things had gone the way I planned it I wouldn't have been where I am today.
 As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good I was actually being re-directed to something better.
But God always had a plan, a purpose, and even though a few months back I didn't see his plan I see it now. And I believe. I believe that through it all he'll take care of me and that I can always trust in him.
He's got it in control.
He always has; and he always will.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So ^ I didn't plan on writing all that but it was something on my heart and I just thought I'd get it out.
So Friday I learned how to sew (kind of) YAY! I've never known how to sew anything but this wonderful lady at our church has started teaching me and my mom how to sew :) I actually really enjoyed it and can't wait to learn more!
  Also I don't know if many of you all know this but I love to redo furniture. And this weekend I found a chair for $1 at a yard sale and I also got a $1 mini table xD So I'm pretty excited. Can't wait to redo them and resale them for more profit!
This weekend our youth group is having a youth rally at our church =D So excited! There'll be like tons of teenagers from different churches coming and I'm just pretty thrilled about it. Can't wait to hear some good preaching, fellowship with other teens, and just have a great time.
Well I think that's all the news.......
Some people make your laugh a little louder, your smile a little brighter, and you life a little better.
^ This is just so true. I am just so thankful for the people God has put in my life. I know so many wonderful people it's amazing. The best feeling in the world is to be with a few friends that your just so comfortable with that it doesn't matter what your doing they make it fun! I love being with people. Especially the ones who I know just love me for me and love Christ.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

OK now for the random Pinterest raid =D

YES! Oh my goodness it kills me sometimes wondering about this.

 Oh I was just talking about this yesterday! I do this ALL the time. It's always so extremely awkward...

Lastly my answers to Jemimah's Questions:

1. What is your view on boyfriend/girlfriend relationships?
I believe that our sociaty has given the copletely wrong standard for dating, relashionships, etc. I believe that a relashionship between a girl and a boy should be taken seriously and not lightly. I don't believe in the world's view of "dating" but I believe in God's way-courting or also known as "dating with a purpose." I think so many girls think their in love with a guy at a young age and start in a relashionship which very often doesn't last. Soon they find another guy they like, then another, and then another. Dating is like saying "I'm going to just be in a relashionship with every guy I think I like until I find the right one." We shouldn't do this. I believe we should wait and pray very carefully before persuing a relashionship. It's a very serious matter and can not be handled lightly.

2. What is the most awesome song you have ever heard?

6. What was the most embarrassing moment of your life?
*giggles nervously* too embarrassing to put on here....lol. I have some pretty terrible ones.

7. What was the sweetest thing a little kid has ever said to you?
Well...I had one little girl tell me I was pretty and that made my day. But when a little kid tells you they love you...well it's just the best feeling on Earth!

This and That

silhouette

So this is just going to be a totally random post....but oh well. lol. I had this great post planned out and I had it all written out and I clicked publish and blogger did some crazy thing and long story short my whole post somehow got deleted and didn't save...so yeah. That was aggravating. And I didn't feel like rewriting the whole thing so I guess you all are stuck with a random post today!
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So the other day me and my brother went to Hobby Lobby with my mom! And I do LOVE Hobby Lobby but she was in there for an extremely long time so me and my brother decided to pass the time by taking retarded pictures....yes, i know. You are probably thinking I'm the most immature teenager in the universe...and I'm honestly not going to argue with that! lol.
This pic just pretty much describes us perfectly.
lol; giant flowers...
He probably gets his extreme weirdness from me....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So how is your all's week going? I am just so excited about school being almost done! Looking forward to summer so much this year.

 Please comment!!!!!
^So I'm curious to know what you all think...I personally think that I'm just like Anne from Anne of green gables. Like no kidding. I'm like her in so many ways it's crazy. I have an over-active imagination, I'm always daydreaming and sometimes am just a bit dramatic.
Anne and Gil :)
And I'm as stubborn as a mule sometimes! lol. I also have to deal with crazy hair as she does but mine isn't red...but I've had people tease me about it my whole life too. We both share the dream of becoming a published author and we'd both except any dare I think. haha. That scene when she fell off the roof just reminded me so much of something I'd do. And then when she fell in the mud chasing the cow with Diana.

SO ME. haha. But anyway who do I remind you of? And if you were a fictional character which one do you think you'd be?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And this is also so random but can I say that bananas and nutella is like the best! Haha. Nutella is just sooo good. Like on anything really. but yeah. Just thought I'd through that in. Do any of you all like nutella?
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well anyway I know this was completely random and talking about like tons of different things but I just thought I'd share what was on my mind. Have a great week guys!
