A devotional and some details about my summer
Praise God in the GOOD & the BAD times
I think the #1 reason people don't handle big storms in their life well is because they didn't keep focused on God when their life was going good. It's so easy to loose sight of God when things are going well. So many Christians beg God to help them through their hard times but when God helps them and things begin to get back to normal it's like they forget about him!
I heard something the other day that was so true. It was this- So many people treat God like he is a Santa Clause or a Genie. They think that when they want something all they have to do is ask him for their request and then when he gives it to them they forget about him. They only really rely on him when THEY NEED HIM. But really we need him all the time. And we shouldn't treat him as our personal wish granter. We should do everything we can to PLEASE HIM.
God wants to use people, but he only uses those who are willing to serve him and praise him in the GOOD times AND the BAD.
But also I've learned that God doesn't always grant us our wishes. Everyone goes through struggles. God will always give us what we NEED but not always what we WANT. He always knows what we need and even though he might put us through hardships he will always deliver us out of them =) Remember that God gives us hard ships to help us GROW but if we don't except his help we will not grow. We need to be willing to grow where God has planted us.
So if you are either going through hard times or even if your life is going great NEVER loose sight of God. He is ALWAYS there.
Updates for my Summer
I'M GOING TO SUMMER CAMP!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooooo excited! I just can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't been to camp since I was 9 and now I finally get to go =) I've been waiting 5 years for this! LOL, I am just so excited ( I'm sure you can tell by now) But anyway I was wondering if any of you guys ever go to camp. How did you like it? Where did you go? what's your favorite thing about it? I'm going to Camp Glory out of Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City, FL where my family used to go to church ( 7 years ago)
Well hope you all are having a GREAT summer!
