I'm a dreamer

I Am A Dreamer
I am a dreamer.
Yes I am.
I don't know wht but I always have been. I've always been the girl with ideas, the girl who made up stories in her head, the girl who was always daydreaming.
I've had a lot of dreams- being a writer, being an artist, being a graphic designer, being an actress, being a missionary, being a teacher, being a world traveler... the list goes on and on.
My mind is always busy. I'm always dreaming of the future, or dreaming up story ideas for future books I plan to write. My mind is always wandering.
Some people say being a dreamer is a good thing. Some people say dreams aren't realistic. Some people say pursue your dreams.
I believe in pursuing dreams...but I also believe there are some good dreams and some bad ones. I know people who just hold on to this fantasy they have for their future so tight they forget that we need to give our futures and our dreams to God. Some dreams are good ones, but some dreams just take up way to much of our life. We need to dream to become something more then just a succesful buisness woman, or getting married, or making something amazing out of ourselves. We just need to dream of becoming who God wants us to be, but we must do more then just dream of one day giving our life to him we must take action. Why wait to give your life to God? Why wait to take action? You can serve God now. It doesn't matter how young or old you are, it doesn't matter how smart or intelligent you are. All that matters is that you have more then little fantasies about your future. That you live out your life serving God and he'll let us live out our dreams.
Dreaming isn't wrong but it can turn to were we are so focused on what we want out of life, but we should be focused more on what God wants out of our life. Are our dreams pleasing to him? And if they are why aren't we starting now to be the person he'd have us to be?

absolute truth

  1. Lovely post. It's so very true, too. I also am a big dreamer, I'm talking like being in a movie, or writing an awesome book, or something crazy like that. I know that dreams can come true, but they can't take up your life; and for me, at least right now, even though those dreams seem awesome, I think I'd rather live a "normal" life, as a beloved part of the community, a mother and wife, etc. I want to make a difference, but I need to keep my priorities straight.
    Okay, that was super mish-mashy ramble-y. :P
that's all to say, great post, I completely relate and agree. :)
